Job title: Driver

Reports to: Plant Manager

Supervisory responsibilities: None 

Summary/objective: Steel Craft Technologies is looking for a Driver to join their Belmont, MI team. The Driver must hold a Class A license or Chauffeur (Class B) license (with a valid medical card). The Driver will be responsible for making pickups and deliveries as directed by management. 

Essential functions:  

• Follow all safe and legal over the road trucking practices and guidelines 

• Follow all safety rules and report unsafe work conditions to management. 

• Keep work area clean. 

• Candidate must be willing to work nights, come in early and stay late as needed. 

• Regular attendance at work during scheduled work hours. 

• Employees may be requested to perform other job functions as required. 

Required competency, education, and experience:  

• Candidate must possess a valid and appropriate driver’s license that legally requirements of this position (Class A or Chauffeur)
• Candidate must have valid medical card
• Candidate must have high school or equivalent education. 
• Candidate must have full use of all limbs. 
• Candidate must be able to read and speak English. 
• Candidate must be able to lift 40 pounds. 

Work environment: Manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions.  

Physical demands:   

• Frequently required to sit, talk and hear 

• Constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms 

• Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk 

• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds   

• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. 

Position type and expected hours of work: Full time. This is a day shift position. Typical hours are 6 AM to 2:30 PM, but overtime may be required depending on the project.

Travel: Travel is primarily local.
