Description/Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the Western Girls Cross Country Program, including but not limited to:
• Varsity and Junior Varsity Cross Country Team
• Feeder Programs-Middle School
• Staff Formation:
• Help select and vet coaches for all levels of Western Cross Country
• Instruct coaches at lower levels on proper fundamentals and scheme
• Fundraising:
• Fundraise for needs above what the athletic department is able to provide
• Communication:
• Communicate expectations to athletes and parents
• Communicate schedules and events with athletes and parents
• Highlight the Western Cross Country Program and its athletes
• Lead Athletes and Coaches:
• Model appropriate behavior
• Serve as a role model for your athletes and the student body
• Team decorum will reflect a first-class program
• Support multi-sport athletes and work with all athletic coaches
• Develop a program that the Western School Community will be proud of, on and off the course
• Work with other coaches to develop a top tier strength and conditioning program
• Plan and implement summer workouts while working with other coaches and athletic teams
• Qualities/Abilities:
• A passion for Education Based coaching and mentoring
• Motivational and encouraging
• Ability to recruit students to the sport
• Create excitement around the program
• Hold events that engage fans and community members
• Support and attend other school functions
