Piper Companies is seeking a Tax Manager to support various indirect tax compliance and planning initiatives for a biotechnology company in Silver Spring, MD . This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity with a hybrid schedule of 3 in-office days.
Responsibilities for the Tax Manager include:
•Lead federal, state, and global indirect compliance and planning.
•Prepare tax analyses, memos, and documentation for compliance and planning.
•Manage sales tax exemption certificates and identify state/ local tax opportunities or risks.
•Support tax matters related to employee benefits, executive compensation, and payroll sourcing.
•Assist with income tax provision (ASC 740) and present findings to finance leadership.
Qualifications for the Tax Manager include:
•7+ years of related tax experience
•5+ years of experience at an SEC reporting multi-national corporation and/or a ‘Big 4’ or regional accounting firm.
•2+ years of managerial experience.
•Proven experience researching analyzing tax laws and regulations and documenting tax issues.
•Experience with SAP ERP system2 preferred
•Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and CPA or JD
Compensation for the Tax Manager includes:
•Salary Range: Approximately $127,000 - $160,000 annually *depending on experience*
