Position: Med-Legal Case Worker

Job Overview

As a Med-Legal Case Worker, you will be responsible for preparing patient charts for in-person evaluations with a Med-Legal Doctor. You will communicate by phone and email with all involved parties and be assigned to a specific doctor or group of doctors to help ensure a smooth process and positive patient experience. Accurate naming, organizing, and filing of documents into our electronic system is a key part of this role. Proper actions in this crucial role ensures compliance of med legal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general clerical duties, including data entry, scanning, reading, and shredding documents
• Make and receive phone calls to/from various parties involved in Med-Legal cases
• Prepare and organize patient charts for upcoming evaluations
• Communicate clearly and professionally via phone and email
• File, label, and maintain electronic records accurately
• Provide administrative support as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience in the California Workers’ Compensation Med-Legal system
• General knowledge of QME rules and regulations
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

Hours & Compensation

• Full-time position (approximately 40 hours per week)
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, weekends and holidays off
• Hourly wage, commensurate with experience
